Competitions 2024

IN 2024, I joined different forms of hackathons such as ideation and business pitches, alongside with STEM hackathons as a new form of experience

SimplifyNext x UiPath RPA Hackathon

3rd Among 40 teams

My team and I had to learn Uipath in one week to its fullest proficiency and we made an Automator bot where we could drag and drop in images and voice out the rough description of the needed caption, which will then be refined by the bot and the caption along with the images would be posted on various social media platforms

IEE Intuition Hackathon

My team and I developed an innovative add-on feature for existing elevators, enhancing their accessibility and user experience. This feature incorporates an LCD screen and a camera inside the elevator, utilizing YOLO (You Only Look Once) technology to detect whether the occupant is a person or a wheelchair user. If a person is inside the elevator and a wheelchair user is waiting outside, the system will automatically play an audio message, encouraging the person to consider stepping out and allowing the wheelchair user to use the elevator. This feature promotes inclusivity and ensures that wheelchair users have priority access when needed.

This was the first time my team and I had joined a health-based hackathon and we had pitched a situational-based system for doctors in residency, where they will garner the skills of effective documentation and quick awareness skills, this idea had been brought up to the managing director of nursing, whom proposed this ideation as a startup where it was then accepted.

SFMA Food Hackathon

3rd Among 25 teams

This was also the first time my team and I had joined Food based hackathon, we had created an extensive proposal for a company, Lim Keem, to garner more internships personals, by promoting them as an MNC and allowing calculated bonds, which will give them an overall net positive return, this had clutched us 3rd place.

Hackomanina by Govtech

1st among 50 teams

My team and I achieved 1st place at Hack O Mania 2024.  We had to compete against a field of around 50 teams from universities, polytechnics and working-class field.

Over less than 24 hours, we channelled our efforts into creating a hardware project. Our creation enhances traditional motion sensors by intelligently detecting human density in a room, thus optimizing lighting and fan usage through AI integration. The journey was intense, involving the development of a trained model and the establishment of a seamless server-client ecosystem.

Regional Young Entrepreneurs Case Challenge

3rd among 30 teams in Thailand

My team and I had participated in RYEC, where we had been able to proceed to the grand finals, which had been held in Thailand and our flight tickets and stay were sponsored and clutched 3rd place.

We had created a new form of insurance policy, which was more understandable to our target audience, which would be rural area, where we will implement the same form of trust policy and bring out micro insurances and micro loans to them.

My team and I clinched the 1st place at the EEE-NUS Student Branch x Bitscraps REWIRED Hackathon 2024. Among a competitive field of brilliant minds from mainly NUS and other institutions, our project stood out as a testament to our creative upcycling and hard work.

In this competition, our challenge was to creatively upcycle old electronic junk into useful, innovative products. Over the span of the event, we transformed an old TV remote into a system designed to control and automatically adjust the lighting intensity based on the density of people in a lecture theatre. This not only conserves energy but also enhances the comfort of the environment.

GIIS Hackathon X

1st Place among 40 teams

My team and I are glad to announce to clutch 1st place at the Global Indian International School Hackathon X, a 24-hour hackathon. We competed against 250 students from various schools and emerged victory with our innovative project.

Our ideation was to create a smart, modular, self-sustaining watering plant system that takes care of itself. Over the intense 24 hours, we designed a system that monitors soil moisture, adjusts water levels automatically, and ensures the plants thrive without constant human intervention, along with a AI plant disease detector.
