Internships Experiences

My internships have been a meaningful part of my Polytechnic journey, allowing me to learn beyond the classroom and gain exposure to real-world work environments. Through working across overseas, online, and on-site settings, I developed adaptability, collaboration skills, and a deeper understanding of how different teams and industries operate.

Apple Developer Academy

Junior Technical Mentor

April 2025 to February 2026

Interning as a technical mentor had been a good experience for me as I not only worked on projects, but also cross collaborated with many mentors from mentors across the world in different academies and reported to Apple Team in some instances and been able to mentor the learners in the academy

Locker Quest

As the sole developer, I designed and built Locker Quest, an app created specifically to support a cross-cultural exchange programme between Singapore Polytechnic students and the Apple Developer Academy in Batam. Designed as a reusable platform for future cross-cultural and Academy-wide events, the app showcases the real-world capabilities of Apple’s ecosystem by integrating Core ML, on-device machine learning, NFC, video recognition, audio analysis, and image recognition, serving as a live, production-ready demonstration during Apple Developer Academy events.

Nutrition Label

I created Nutrition Label, an accessibility-first iOS app designed to demonstrate the full spectrum of Apple’s Accessibility features. This included Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, Differentiate Without Colour, and other system-level tools, positioning accessibility not as an afterthought, but as a core design principle embedded into app design and user experience.

Graduate Showcase Website

I played a key role in developing the Graduate Showcase Website, a pilot initiative unique to this Apple Developer Academy only. The platform introduced gamification and crowd-control mechanisms to manage live event flow, while ensuring every app and team received meaningful visibility. The experience was designed to help both technical and non-technical audiences clearly understand each app’s purpose, impact, and design.

Technical Teaching & Peer Mentorship

Alongside product development, I actively delivered technical teaching and knowledge transfer, covering topics such as iOS 18 to iOS 26 migration strategies, modern Apple UI and platform changes, machine learning, and Apple Foundation Models. I also served as a peer mentor to Academy learners; many of whom were older and more experienced providing architectural feedback, problem-solving support, and technical guidance, while leading with clarity, confidence, and mutual respect.

I had been fortunate enough to work on a myriad of interesting projects as in iOS intern in TinkerTanker, such of those are:

Playground Pals

As the sole developer, I designed and built Playground Pals, an AI-assisted learning tool aimed at helping developers learn Swift through guided exploration and contextual feedback. I made the product end-to-end, from architecture, and implementation to iteration, focusing on making Swift learning more intuitive, interactive, and accessible for learners at different levels.

UIKit & XCTest Educational Resources (Foodpanda)

I independently developed a full suite of UIKit and XCTest educational resources for iOS engineers at Foodpanda. This included hands-on projects, structured lesson plans, and practical testing workflows, designed to mirror real production scenarios. These materials are now actively used internally to upskill engineers in UIKit fundamentals and testing best practices.

Bianco by Bernina

I supported and maintained Bianco by Bernina, an educational smart-sewing application, ensuring stability, feature continuity, and a smooth learning experience for users. My work involved troubleshooting, maintaining existing codebases, and supporting the app’s ongoing educational mission.

Swift Accelerator Support

I contributed to improving and supporting Swift educational materials under the Swift Accelerator initiative, helping refine learning content and structure to better support developers progressing through advanced Swift concepts.

Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA)

Technical Developer For DSTA Brain Hacks 2025

February 2025 to June 2025

During my internship with DSTA & Stacktribe Pte. Ltd., I worked as an independent contractor supporting the DSTA BrainHack TIL-AI 2025 competition. My role focused on designing and delivering technical AI/ML content for participants with varying skill levels. I developed structured training curricula for foundational AI/ML topics, refined educational materials, and conducted both novice and advanced workshops covering General AI/ML and Computer Vision. Beyond content delivery, I also supported participants throughout the competition period by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting via Discord, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience.
